Senior Side Quests: It’s Now or Never

While graduating from college means that many exciting “firsts” of professional adulthood are to come, it’s also a reminder of the many “lasts” you’re about to experience on campus.

Through working Orientations at Kennesaw State University, I’ve spent my last two summers encouraging new students to make the most of their time at KSU, get involved, and try new things. Yet, as a senior graduating this December, there was still so much on campus I had yet to experience for myself.

When the four of us – Sasha, Imari, Jaden, and I – were brainstorming what we wanted Owl Access to be, the idea of completing “Senior Side Quests” kept coming up. With our time on campus flying by, the objective of trying things that we had never done before at KSU was really exciting. We set out to make our last semester the best one yet, while documenting it through Owl Access.

We hoped that by putting ourselves out there and sharing information about the resources and activities we tried around campus, we could maybe encourage other students to do the same. Whether you are in your first semester at KSU or are about to walk across the graduation stage, like us, the time to start making new memories at The Nest is now!

Senior Side Quests can be as small as attending an Owl Fit workout class for the first time or as big as running for Homecoming Court. If you start viewing your college experience less as a box to be checked and more as an adventure, your time at KSU will feel more rewarding, spontaneous, and worthwhile.

Your college experience is what you make it. Take advantage of all of the opportunities that KSU has in store for you while you can. If you are a senior at KSU, take this as a sign to finally do the things you’ve always wanted to try on campus. It’s now or never, so take flight and soar to your next Senior Side Quest!
