Owl Swap: The Campus Closet You Didn’t Know You Needed

Clothes aren’t just fabric or material that you wear because you have to. I mean, yes, you need to wear them but clothes are so much more than that. They’re a fashion statement. It’s how weexpress ourselves without saying a word. Fashion is about showing creativity with what wehave, making something out of nothing, mixing this with that it all reflects who you are!

Being a college student comes with some bad spending habits, especially when it comes to

clothes. Buying things without knowing what to get, or spending a lot with no purpose, it adds up fast. Thrifting has become super popular, but having an actual thrift store on campus is a total game changer. A hidden gem right here at Kennesaw State University.

The Owl Swap is basically our on-campus Plato’s Closet but better. Everything is free! You can grab up to 10 items per day with your Talon Card. Need a last-minute outfit for your headshots or something professional for the career fair? They’ve got you covered. Even if none of that applies to you, it’s still worth checking out if you might find a cool shirt for a social event or something you didn’t know you needed.

And the best part? You can donate clothes to Owl Swap too. It’s a perfect cycle to clean out

your dorm closet and make room for your new finds.

I actually discovered Owl Swap earlier this semester just walking around campus. It's located

right across from the Social Science building. I walked in with nothing and left with a few gems: a KSU shirt, KSU joggers, Levi’s ripped jeans, an umbrella, glasses, and two graphic tops. I was amazed at how much I found and actually liked it! Owl Swap has a little bit of everything, the list truly goes on. But as a fellow Owl, take my word for it. Check it out.
